Elk Rubs in late January???

Elk Rubs in late January???

Went out scouting and found these jan 27 is this normal?? I live in NW Oregon and haven't seen this before this time of year. Why do you think this bull is rubbing this time of year?

These rubs were everywhere about 20 of them

No, no moose around here I live in Oregon. There was also fresh Elk crap and tracks what looked like one Elk and one fresh bed.

Elktracker: I do not know why, but they do rub in the winter. I do not see it in eastern Oregon where I hunt. This is likely due to the snow pushing them out of that area earlier.
