New here, My introduction

Hey guys,

This is my first post on here. Been lurking for a while. Here's my brief history.

My name is Tim and I am a Pennsylvania native, born and raised, but I always wanted to experience the West. In 2009, My girlfriend and I broke up. I always said if we broke up, I was moving west. So three month later at age 23 I was enrolled in a guide school in nw Montana. I loaded up the truck with all I had and pointed it west.

To make a long story short, I found a job and began working as a packer and guide. I had these glorious images of being a western big game guide, haha, yeah right! Guiding was one of the hardest thing I have ever done, both mentally and physically.

I am now married to girl that i broke up with and have moved back to PA to take over our family construction company. I still love the west and try to get back each year.

I can tell you this for sure, if I knew of this forum and the elknut playbook when I was guiding, I would have been so much more successful. It has been great to hear from so many great elk hunters out there.

Welcome Tim,
I from right down the road from ya. West Virginia. I now live in Ks and have been out here since 1980 and it's a great place to be. Four seasons, five if you include tornados .They do call it a season here.Great hunting,some nice lakes,and plenty for the outdoors person to do.I like your elk,that's a nice animal.I'm still working towards getting my first one.Well hang around here for awhile.I'll be lookin for ya and what you have to comment on about the different topics that come up.

Welcome to the forum Tim. Nice bull. I wish I had the Playbook when I started elk hunting in the early 1960s. I could have used Elknut's grunt tubes, DVDs and some good diaphragms too. It seems rather inconsiderate that Elknut sat on all of that information so long. What surprises me, when I talk to fellow elk hunters now is, how many know nothing of Elknut or his material. When I talk to them about the Playbook and DVDs, they look at me like I was a space alien, or the same as John Fitzgerald does.
