Whoa, I've gotten a bit rusty.

Here's a try... I'll give it another run once I get some more practice in...

More of a scream with chuckles. Mixing up the order a little.

I'm so new to calling that I don't feel qualified to critique, but I sure would appreciate a few of your seasoned guys making some more comments on the calls being posted. I don't mean just mine, but everybody's. I learn from every tip whether it is directed toward my calls or someone else's.

Pretty darn solid offering ctdad. Would certainly stay with what you're doing. Only thing I would recommend is that you llimit your chuckles to 7 or 8 max after your bugle or scream in an actual calling scenario. I know I threw 8 or 9 behind my bugles but that was for demonstration purposes only :) Your bugle w/chuckles sounds will get the job done just fine. RJ

Here is my latest version.

Nicely done Jahnke76. For practice and elk woods calling scenarios, I'd only recommend that you shorten your bugle by a few seconds and add another chuckle or two. Your sounds are on the mark IMO. Remember, chuckles are certainly quieter and spaced tighter than grunts.. they're "pleading"... like a guy begging a girl to go with him (which is in fact, what chuckles are). They're almost wimpy... and again, pleading. Many times you'll hear chuckles by themselves when a bull is trying to either call cows back, or, just plain to him. Would like to see you post another one up with a shorter bugle, perhaps a bit more raspy/screamy and follow with 6-8 tightly spaced, wimpering chuckles.. RJ

I did it again with a shorter bugle. The chuckles definately sound wimpy to me. Soundcloud.com/steve-jahnke/bugle-and-chuckle-7-12

After I recorded and listened back to my recording, I thought those chuckles seemed a bit excessive. You confirmed it for me. Thanks.

I'm not kidding a bit, that is so impressive for only using diaphrams for only a few weeks. You're all over the range you can obtain from these things. Shorten your bugle by a second and hit us again. You're almost getting into the length of a locater bugle. Bugles with chuckles are "normally" a bull making his presence known (I"m tending these girls) and both calling them back to, or, over to him.. Very impressive shorthair15..

Here's my offering. Short bugle with chuckles. This is what I love to use with the threat once a bull is introduced to the equation. Not to big and not not small, just upsetting to the herd bull that thought he was picking up a stray or lone cow. This is when he snaps! ;)

Btw. Don't mind my dog. Lol.

Shorthair, good bugle but speed up the chuckling, you have too much hesitation between them! Good Job!!

Liv2Hunt, awesome!! Very good do not change a thing.

Guys, a bugle with chuckling is a bull calling or rounding up cows!
