Is there any chance of them lifting the fire ban before Fall? I'm still pretty new to this dry climate, don't know what to expect.

There probably will be fire bans in some areas this fall, but generally the mtns start getting moisture & most of the bans get lifted. Hope this is the case for this fall.We seldom have a fire, so it does'nt interfere with our camp. Last year, it was hard for us to get a fire started as things were wet most of the week we were in camp. Fire dangar was at a minimum last year for us. Fact, the entire area was a mudhole! A little afternoon shower..terrific. A monsoon....makes ya say things your mamma would'nt be proud of!

the governor lifted the mandatory fire ban. Right now it’s up to each county/jurisdiction to establish fire bans.

Our governor is just plain dumb for lifting fire bans at this time. It can rain cats and dogs one day and still be drier than a popcorn fart by evening.

Fires are still permitted with gas stoves that can be turned off so there should be no problem cooking. There is really no need for camp fires anyhow.

Bill, I hear ya, but when I'm out camping or just out at hunting camp just for the evening I sure do like a campfire just for grins, it's like an old friend, it's mesmerizing! (grin) Of course as long as it's legal!

I hear ya Paul. But what I'm saying is a camp fire is not a necessary thing and I would never let a fire ban stop me from hunting unless it is the type of ban that restricts access to the area.

Cnelk's pictures are impressive. But you have to remember that kind of stuff is caused from run off. Most of that water went right down the creek before it had a chance to soak in.

So what ever anyone thinks, just be careful. Know your territory and have an escape plan just in case. Have an enjoyable hunt.
