Get a late season leftover cow tags? Read Bugle magazine? Go turkey hunting or fly-fishing?

These things help, but nothing quite fills the void, huh. I'm dreading this time next week!!!

Take up waterfowl hunting...That gets me through Christmas time at least. Then I start hunting for big fish with my fly rod.

I am still holding on to the fourth quarter so not moving on just yet!

I'm lucky that my archery tag becomes a general rifle tag soon, too.

Cnelk not just the elk but the mountains my sleeping bag the solitude the sound of my jetboil dinner by headlamp feeling exhausted at the end of the day.... All of it really.
I have two goals right now to fulfill.
1 take a turkey with my bow (I've missed a lot)
2 take a deer with one of the bows I made. No treestand or blind.
Trumkin I hunt snow geese every spring one of my passions!
Had elk steaks for dinner.
How many more days till next season? Lol

Start scouting new units, maybe explore a GMU you dream about drawing some year or perhaps a mt goat or sheep unit (can I say that in the Elknut forum?) any positive time in the mountains is priceless.

Well...I need to figure out where to hunt next year. This was my second season and I did see one elk this year(100% more elk than I saw last year). I spent my week hiking and glassing. The other week I had available from work I couldn't even get out of town on account of floods.
I notice a lot of people here on the Nut are saying: " Holy Moly a whole yearto wait until next season!"
This year I found out exactly how hard finding elk can be, and maybe a year won't be enough for me nail it down! I am already light years ahead of where I was at last year thanks to this invaluable resource and know that I'll be at least a little more prepared for next season too.
