Out on a limb

Postby Castnblast » 08 26, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Ok after reading all the lurker post I realized most people today are connected but never close enough to meet and hunt together.

I am a long time hunter new to Colorado 14 months and hope to stay for a very long time. Would like to meet some like minded hunter to get to know elk hunting, grouse, pheasant, fly fishing ect. I live in west side Denver metro. I am 33. Married with kids 7 yo daughter 5 yo son who love the out doors and archery and will one day be joining me on trips. I work regular schedule weekly but can get off for big trips. I am still learning the elk archery thing but love it.

I am looking for some like minded hunter in the same social circle and place in life as me or close to it. Respectful, moral some one I can have my kids at camp with when the time comes.

Would like to find some people who can call me to help pack out after a kill.

Jack
I understand your dilemma. Been there - Done that

There are the guys who have their hunting partners already in place.
Then there are they guys who hunt solo.

I had good experiences with buddies and also experiences that werent so good with 'so-called' buddies
Ive had good experiences hunting alone too.

Maybe someone lurking on here is in the same position you are and will contact you.

In the meantime, get out in the elk woods, learn the country and have some fun :)

Hey Jack, been in the same boat as well...expect I have been in CO a little bit longer and was fortunate enough my father in law grew up in Montrose and has hunted most of his life and is continually sharing his wealth of info with me. I grew up in OK hunting whitetail and waterfowl and still feel like I am in my infancy with elk.

I live in Highlands Ranch so I bet we are not too terribly far away. I am probably a few years behind you with an eight month old and a second on the way  but would be more than willing to step out there and quit being a lurker.
