Utha-North Manti Antlerless elk

After applying for about 17 hunts this year, I drew only a North Manti Antlerless Elk. I've been hunting as a dedicated hunter for the last 3 years and hunted the southern zones exclusively. The closest I've been to Manti is driving to the north slope of flying 30,000 feet over it I've just about looked at every possible map/google Earth view there is. I sure could use some advice on where to start in the North Manti-PMs are great.

My plan is to Bivy Hunt with an OTC archery tag and the Draw tag. So, Mid August on.

Congratulations on a great draw.

Lots of 10,000 foot elevations.Should be a challenging once in a lifetime hunt. Some desolate country, with big bulls,... did I mention it has some really nice bulls

Hmm,.. I heard a rumor that the current largest record bull was taken in the neighboring unit,.. those genetics could be mixed in where you are headed

Again congratulations we were there in the summer and saw a lot of cow calves were in the valley so you hunt could be a farm land hunt

Haven't been there for twenty years, but is where I heard my first bugle. It was more like 100 bugles, with antlers locked up and the whole canyon was going crazy. I was 14 and haven't been the same since. Anyway its a great unit with tons of elk shouldn't be too tough as long as your in decent shape. What are the dates? How far south does it go?
