Marty's Colorado Unit 49 1st season Rifle Elk tag came yesterday.

We (actually he) will be hunting near Fairplay, Co. I will be a tag-along and accompany him such as he did on my last year's Elk hunt.

October 12-16. We plan to get there a full week before the season opens for some scouting, but mainly to acclimate ourselves. Coming from 300' is tough.

That is the best season in the state! Low hunter numbers, and the elk will still be bugling. Plan on having a great hunt.
