Six Ways to Sunday (translation: elk steaks on the grill)

The classic version of this phrase means loosely, "by whatever means possible, or necessary, to attain the desired goal". What do you folks employ, each year, to hunt elk? For me, it's predominately running as gunning for elk with a bow during the rut. I have very limited experience with tree stand hunting but it's #1 on my list to try after studying it a bit (thanks Swede). I haven't shot an elk with a rifle for many, many years. What do you cats do during your average elk season, in a concentrated effort to put big nasty's nose in the dirt? Run and gun archery/calling? Tree stand hunting, archery or rifle? Spot/stalk (again, various weapons)? Still hunt with rifle (slowly pick your way throught the timber)? Or, a combination of all or more of what I've mentioned. And in your opinion, what is the most lethal way to harvest a wapiti each year. Thanks for playing
