Backcountry Hunting Seminar - Featuring Aron Snyder

Postby dotman » 01 29, 2013 •  [Post 1]

This coming Feb 23rd the Kansas City Chapter of the RMEF is hosting its annual banquet with 1 addition this year, we will also be hosting a seminar on backcountry hunting by Aron Snyder. The seminar will be free but it would be great if everyone that decided to attend also considered attending the banquet. There will be great food and fun for all, some great items being raffled and auctioned off this year for all budgets.

The location of the seminar and banquet will be:

Holiday Inn Overland Park West
8787 Reeder Street Overland Park, Kansas 55214

We will be starting the Seminar at 4pm and opening the doors for the banquet at 5:30pm. Here is the link to purchase advanced tickets and also get a smokin deal on some raffle tickets https://events.rmef.org/shop.aspx?eid=0044130 the invitation is also on the advance ticket purchase link.

It would be great to meet some Elknuts and also a good chance to learn a few things from Aron. Aron will be hanging out all night and will be there to answer all Kifaru related and backcountry hunting related questions but also to have a good time and meet a few people.

Also, last I talked with Aron the new Kifaru Bikini and Highcamp bag will be there, so if you ever wanted to get your hands on a Kifaru pack this will be a great opportunity.

Feel free to reply or send me a pm if there are any questions, again the seminar is free but it would be great if everyone would consider attending the banquet to help show support for a great cause. It would also be great if you don't plan to attend the banquet but would like to attend the seminar that you give me a heads up so I have an estimate.

FYI... our own Paul has a few items he donated that will be there as well :) thanks a bunch Paul.

You have to look at it this way, we have a ton of flatlanders that want to hunt in the backcountry with zero experience :). Actually probably better to have these seminars closer to the newbies then the pros :)

Also we have discounted raffle tickets until Feb 15th, gonna be some good stuff. We have a life size elk target, $10 a ticket :). Think we have 7 rifles and 1 pistol. Possibly will have a kimber, still waiting to hear on this. I think we need a final headcount by Fed 21st but we will get last minute people in :).

Sounds to me like a good reason for business in KC that week/weekend :)

If you buy a few raffle tickets on the elk target I'll keep it safe :). I'll always be on guard with my bow :)

Can we buy the raffle tickets from a "remote" area, say Washington and Hawaii (David).. We'd like to both support the event and have a chance at the prizes! RJ

Yup you can, I'll need to work out logistics and of course shipping would be on the winners dime but it is a need not be present to win raffle.

Bingo! If you can't be there, why not support the event from afar... Thanks.

Just a quick fyi... The raffle tickets for the elk have had a price drop, 1 - $5 or 3 - $10, still only selling 350. Also if anyone wants to get in on this it is either a come pickup or pay for shipping item BUT if anyone here wins and doesn't want to deal with shipping I'll buy it for $100. So for $10 for 3 tickets you can either win the target or $100 :)
