Your Ultimate Elk Hunting Truck

I'm interested in seeing what you would consider your ultimate elk hunting truck to get you to your hunting location, around, and back.
Over the years it has changed for me and the season I hunt make a difference too. For my September archery hunt my half ton extended cab pickup is all I need. I am pretty much a minimalist, so I don't want noncritical conveniences. I don't even need a radio, but they are all there on my truck and then some. I need a trailer receiver as I tow a trailer to carry my ATV and some extras like five-gallon water containers.

Nothing fancy at all but I love my 2000 f150 7700 series….i can take a pad a sleep in the front seat when I’m alone…had it for about 14 years and hope to get 14 more out of it

I usually take my f150 but I've had the 5.4 headache since 2020. Those are the crappiest engine ford ever built. I even put a brand new reman from powertrain AND it still runs like dog poop. I was fortunate a family member lent me their chevy 2500 this past season. It made hauling the horse trailer a breeze

My brother has a 5.4 in his truck. The truck now has over 200k miles without a malfunction. His only complaint is that "it has a drinking problem."

Mine is going on 300k but only 42k on the reman. They are notorious for cam phaser and timing chain issues

JI canty speak nice about chevy at all. My when new in 77 went fast with good mileage but there were a handful of recalls on that truck. I fell asleep and rolled it at 13,000 miles, totaled
This I just got it back my 2021 trail boss ,, bought used with 9,000.. Warranty is gone and so was $6082.10 on Tuesday
More than two painful

Inow get to camp and it can be a 20-90 minute drive to hunt with the truck and 1 minute to40 minute ATV ride.. But I would like an E bike or E ATV

I really would like something smaller with better gas milage, however that will never be in the budget either

Best elk hunting truck? Why, that’s my hunting buddies truck..whenever possible, so I don’t have to trash mine  I do like my 22 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss.. it can tow, has decent clearance, and gets me up there.
