What are we after before heading in to or coming out of an elk area in each elk state? Well… a great burger IMHO! It’s that simple you wild bohemians, post up “your choice” of an epic burger joint in the elk state(s) you frequent. Here we go.

I try to stop in mom n pop burger joints when im traveling but am usually disappointed. But one burger place here in colville ill recommend.... and its not gourmet stuff, but more a good quality fast food burger, is the colville zips. NOT the chewelah or spokane etc zips. Zips is a small regional chain, and up until a few years ago the colville zips was just like all the others. Crappy preformed frozen patties etc. But a while back they kinda broke from the mold and while the other ones are still offering the same crap burgers, the zips in colville uses good, local, never frozen beef. Fresh made patties. Its a fast food burger but with good meat. Not the frozen meat disc crap. Definitely worth a stop is youre passing through and want to get a burger. And their fries are typically hot enough to burn the crap out of you if you dont wait a couple minutes to reach. In the bag.

I always liked RJs in Burns Oregon. The burger is very good, and I can choose between the salad bar or a bowl of excellent chili as my side dish. Depending on the day and the time, I will choose a cup of coffee, a medium soft drink or a glass of milk to go with it.
