Final, Final Retirement.

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 01 03, 2025 •  [Post 1]

Well campers, after 20 years active Army and what will be 21 years Forces Command Department of Defense civil service come my birthday on 30 May 2025, I’m gonna final, final retire from GOVT service. I’m looking forward to not having to count my leave accrual to plan my fall hunts. And, I will certainly be spending more time on “our” forum keeping some of you miscreants in line :D. As always, I thank all of our great forum MODs and members for what you do every day to keep WapitiTalk informative, useful, and clean. Not sure if I can break the habit of getting up each morning at 5:30 :D

Thank you Dennis, it’s a bit scary as I’ve always had a JOB, I’m sure I’ll acclimate.

Congratulations on your upcoming retirement. The trouble with retirement is that time goes by far too fast. Take plenty of time and enjoy each day.

Words of wisdom. I’ll have to consider this move carefully :?

Congrats! 5 months. That doesnt give us a lot of time, but it should be enough to implement Lefty's plan. Swede, have you acquired the "goods" yet?

OH! I forgot to mention, If you invade your wife's space too often, I'm sure she will come up with lots of honey-dooos for your free time.

The first few months after I retired were tough on me. Even with some great job offers and hunting seasons.

I kind of regret one offer. A fellow told me his company was waiting for me to retire and work for them,,, I told him he should have made the offer 10 years earlier<<<<

Now I like to say "Im busier now than I ever use to be doing things I like to do"
