Happy Thanksgiving to the forum

Postby Billy Goat » 11 23, 2022 •  [Post 1]

guys,

I just wanted to say I'm thankful to be part of a forum like this - where many opinions can be sought and shared without bickering. I'm part of a larger outdoors forum that is far less friendly.

anyhow, I hope + pray this Thanksgiving finds each of you well, warm and enjoying time with friends + family.

thanks all,

Billy Goat

Happy Thanksgiving to my WapitiTalk family! I don’t think anyone I am friends with other than Tom can begin to understand my obsession other than you guys and ladies. To me elk season is 365 days a year even though trying to hang my tag on one only happens for a couple weeks each year. So this is where I come to live the elk life when I’m not actually hunting. I belong to a couple other forums. I have known some guys over there for over 20 years. But this group is different. I’ve often thought about what a fun time we’d have if we got together sometime. But as we get older time becomes more important than money and if we had the time to do that we probably would have added it to our hunts a month or two ago. So for now I guess we can continue to harass each other right here. Vince I know your days in the mountains are winding down but I would hope I can still find you on here sharing your infinite wisdom. Your experience is priceless not only to beginners but to all of us. I don’t have to tell you that we are always learning.

Good luck to everyone who is deer hunting around home. We start on Saturday.

The dog really wants to try some pecan pie. I think ill sneak him some when nobodys looking. After all, hes special and should get whatever he wants.

I never touched my computer over the break so I missed this thread. All of the turkey that was consumed on Thanksgiving has already been...processed.

Nice to see you posting Elknut! How did you do this year? This is the first year that I really struggled to get bulls to answer/react. I would love to pick your brain about that sometime.

Yep, Wapiti talk feeds the passion, that is for sure.
