Does Swede miss us already?

Postby Tigger » 08 23, 2022 •  [Post 1]

What ya think, is Swede missing us? Although he wouldn't admit it, I bet he is. I bet he wakes up with a tear in his eye for his buddies at WT! Then he gets up and has a Slim Jim with a can of sardines for breakfast and washes it down with some foul smelling black liquid that he claims is coffee.

Does Swede drink coffee? I picture him as more of a Monster energy drink guy. Definitely not one of those crazies that start their day with a Diet Coke. YUCK

I bet he reuses his coffee grounds for days! For lunch, probably a bologna and raw onion sandwich with a big chunk of lard for lubrication.

Hmmm, wonder what he eats for supper?

Miss us? Don’t you have to like a person to miss them?

I think he’s throwing us a curveball. I bet he doesn’t even own a treestand. Or a bow. He’s in a ground blind with a crossbow and a muzzleloader. By the end of the hunt he will have completed his third book called “How I saw the light and gave up treestand hunting” by Swede the Spot and Stalker.

How surprised would we all be to walk into Swede's camp and find him slumped down in camp chair with a bottle of whiskey next to him? I'd be disappointed, I picture him wearing clean pants and a button-up shirt, enjoying some lemonade.

I think it would be likely that he is slumped down in his chair, but not from booze. I think the effort of getting out of bed probably made him tired and he is taking a nap. If it is hot, he will have on shorts and black socks pulled up halfway to his knees. His button up shirt will be off one button and he will be snoring. There will be an elk target that he shoots from atop the picnic table while pretending that is his hunt and coming up with some nugget of nonsensical wisdom to pass along to the masses! In other words, he will be our lovable old curmudgeon!

My guess is he is having a grand ol' time. He has had a little wild weather last week or so over there, so I hope he was able to get his tent up and covered. Nothing I like more than laying in my cot in my wall tent listening to rain on the tarp.

Well, here is a picture of Swede from earlier days.

If this is any indication of his "commitment" to elk hunting, I put my money on he is going to be well "rested" when he returns.

I usually wish I were Swede. But not if that means getting roasted here at wapititalk. No good deed goes unpunished, right?

However, in the continuing spirit of this thread, here is another old pic of Swede, before he became the legend and was eroded by life's travails.

I have a feeling this may have been him at some point in the past as well, when he took bow hunting REALLY seriously. My guess is his wife put a stop to all the mud and flaming arrows though. Didn't like having to clean up all that mess when he got home.

Im going to run this thread off track The gal that made that painting/print swapped me one of the biggest red fox I ever trapped for a couple of her prints.
The man used as the model was on my paper route. and gave some of us free taxidermy lessons.

Ok back to picking on Swede

Yes, I think we are all Pro-Swede here. If we didn't like and care about him, this thread would A) never existed and B) Never had a follow up post. Should put a smile on his face when he does get reception. I mean, really, who doesn't like seeing pictures of themselves?

By the way, this was Swede after not shaving for the month of September last year:

thread is too funny. :)

I think we're all just jealous that he's in the woods, and we're not.

Posh!!! Swede only hunts 5 days! The rest of elk hunting season, (and this is a fact I read on the internet) Swede spends his time at the beach, working on a tan and surfing.

Photo taken of Swedes beach "camp" last year by a local who said and I quote: Swede has been coming down every September for years.

Matching set. Since he’s still wearing the same wool from 1967 you would think he’d upgrade these things!
