Fires

Two big ones here in Idaho. both over 20,000 acres. One around Salmon in Lemhi county the other out in the desert.

Last year smoke nearly drove us from camp . The "pretty " sunsets aren't worth it.

The one by North Fork has already burned up some nice ground. Keeping a close eye on it.

Luckily nothing in my area this year. We had a very cool, wet spring. The dry years always make me nervous. My insurance rates my house a 9.5, on a scale of 1-10, for wildfire danger. And no matter how dry it is, some morons will always be firing off fireworks on 4th of july, or shooting explosive targets (cant think of the name right now) at the dnr gravel pit on my road.

Here's a really good site to check fire activity in a given area.

Tannerite, thats the word i was looking for, thank you. Idiots shoot that crap here despite it being illegal on dnr land, and they do it at times of highest fire danger. Just cant fix stupid i guess.
