Wyoming Application Deadline Around The Corner

Postby Indian Summer » 01 26, 2022 •  [Post 1]

It’s that time of year again. It comes fast in Wyoming! As soon as it becomes the new year you have to decide what to do. The good news is that license prices went way down this year and you can now draw elk tags for sure with no points. I also have ocean front property for sale in Arizona.

Good luck to everyone in the drawings this year. I’ll try not to lose any sleep waiting until the end of May for the draw results. Even when you know you have the points it’s a relief to see the word successful. It seems like that’s when things get real.

As usual I have a partner who has never killed an elk. Like many he has hunted Colorado several times with no luck and 2 years ago he struck out with a Wyoming cow tag. So he’s thirsty! Another friend is coming as well and he’s so hungry to finally punch a tag that he says he’s shooting the first cow he sees. Nooooooo! I’m working on getting him to hold off for just 1 or 2 days and then make a decision based on what he sees. I really like hunting with guys who have some experience but no dead elk. Between the 3 of us I wouldn’t want to be an elk on that hill this fall! Watching a guy like that walk up on his first dead bull is a really cool experience.

So what’s your plan? Anybody else hunting the Cowboy State this year?

I guess I forgot to plug my business. I’m a better elk hunter than businessman. Wyoming DIY elk hunting plans for sale! Lol Montana too.

I'll be putting my Dad in for WY again. I got an Idaho tag so I'll just be accruing another point for WY this year. Next year I think our group will be moving over to WY from ID as a whole, so we can at least have the opportunity to hunt together again.
I hunt therefore I am. I fish therefore I lie.

I'm in this year. Took quite a few years of Indian Summer prodding me, but here we go. I hope I can get used to seeing farther than 10 feet in front of my snout in the elk woods.. I'm sure I'll get by somehow.

I hate hunting jungles. I gave that up years ago. Open country is so much more pleasing to the eye. It’s also more suitable to locating elk. You are going to think you died and went to Heaven! Good luck!

Yep. I’m going to look back to 2020 at point creep and see but I’m pretty confident you guys have a good chance of drawing. I’m only a couple decimal points better.

Good luck guys and girls! Today is your last chance to apply.

I’m hoping so RJ. If point creep goes that high - there’s about no hope.
Goal will be to go 3/3 - chomping at the bit to get out there.
