Where Is RJ

Postby Swede » 10 03, 2021 •  [Post 1]

Where is RJ these days. Since he has been gone so long, I am thinking he should have to reregister to post here on this most sociable of forums. Or he could come around in Big Red to take us on a ride. Is there anything I left out?

Big red is in route back to his house as we speak. Hopefully it beats him home. Really wanted it to be a surprise.

I just hope he enjoyed his hunt and didn’t have any recurring sinus issues. I’m anxious to hear about his hunt. A dead elk would be a bonus.

RJ is still out hunting with another Joe. We will wait to see what his attitude is like when he returns. If he has been packing out elk, or is at least contrite about abandoning the forum for so long, I suppose we will go easy on him.

If I remember correctly he was crabby last year after his hunt got cut short. The year before that he was crabby and mean because of a brutal packout.

We want details! 4 more sleeps until I point the covered wagon west. Am I ready? Not even close. But the gun and boots are ready.

Well I for one hope he is having a splendid time and having adventures at every turn. I am quite confident he will bring a bull home for winter sustenance. You heathens who remodeled his car should be ashamed at doing that to a timeless classic. I, for one, would never condone that type of activity!

Man, it was hard to type the last two sentences!!

9 sleeps until my sons and I leave for antelope hunting! 16 sleeps until I leave for elk hunting!!

Best wishes to you guys heading out on your hunts. Fill your tags and enjoy your hunt.
I have recovered from my hunt, but still have a couple of items to take care of before I would be ready to return. I already miss hunting camp. One of these days I would like to have one like Joe's with a foot of snow to deal with and a pile of good firewood to keep things warm. Maybe next season it will be a late cow hunt here in Oregon.

How dare you call my 4 year old son a heathen! Maybe there was some... miscommunication...

I wonder if it is too late to undo the deeds? Best maybe if we just let it go and there is a chance RJ never notices.

I put a cover over it. I paid extra for the gray tarp instead of blue. Should buy us some time.

Gray is good. Did you clean the mud off the tires? The cheeto dust off the seats?

We just drove so fast it all flew off. Grayson's ventilation modifications worked well for clearing out the cab. It was a bit of a tornado for a minute or two when we hit 90 but it cleared out fast.

The cab? We need to watch our vocabulary. RJ is going to have a coronary if we refer to the the "Cab" on his car. Even if it aptly applies.

Say, did the neon green lights look as good as we thought? It doesn't look like a Christmas present with red paint and green lights does it?

No, he has gone AWOL. I know it is a lousy excuse, but he went hunting.

On the way back to WA. Empty coolers on his hunt. Passed up smaller bulls in anticipation of a jumbo size later but didn’t shake out at the end. Drew back a few times on some decent bulls this past week but the clear shot was not there. Good hunt with the exception of not connecting  On to some WA late muzzy elk hunts and of course, the grey ghosts of the PNW.

Sorry to hear that RJ! I came home from my big fall hunt empty handed this year. It's not a fun feeling.

It is good to hear from you again and to have you back on the forum. I am sorry you did not fill your coolers. Hopefully you can connect with your smoke pole in WA.

Goat: It doesn't sound to me like you are going hunting. It appears you are starting a career. Anyway best wishes and keep us posted.

RJ is back as most everyone knows. Sadly he did not fill his tag. What I want to read is how much time did he spend in a tree stand?
