Well, the story is something along the lines of driving to MT, heading straight to my hunting grounds, and spotting a whopper of a bull 3400' up a mountain at daybreak on day one. I tried, and failed, to climb said mountain. For some reason the major quad cramps were a real inhibitor of my elevation gaining endeavors. So day two I plotted out an easier (read longer way round) route up the same mountain, and started hiking at 4 am. I did not make it to the top. Roughly 15-20 minutes after legal shooting light I ran into a raghorn bull, and with 1400' of elevation still to go I decided a bull in the hand is worth two in the bush.

"Snick, Boom, thwap" and I was faced with the sudden reality that I was going to be boning and packing out a bull alone. 15 miles from YNP. In grizzly central. Well, I got all the meat staged 500 yards from the killsite and hauled half the elk out by dark, and called grandpa to come up for the second trip on Wednesday morning. Up, up, up the mountain we went, to find the meat untouched, and no bears to be seen. The rest, as they say, is history!

You grew a beard! All grown up now. Lol

Congrats and one in the hand is definitely better than one still on the mountain!

Congratulations Malachi. But don't forget to put your brass in the tumbler before you reload them again. Looks like they need a good cleanup. LOL!

Yeah, some of those rounds are probably on or near their last reloading cycle.
