Excitement! And random thoughts

Postby Tigger » 08 19, 2020 •  [Post 1]

Tomorrow I will go over 50 miles hiked in August with my packback on. Another 20 without.

They say that men think about sex every 7 seconds. Well I think I am thinking about elk hunting about every 3 seconds.

I swear my neck is getting bigger and I have an uncontrollable urge to rub my head up and down on the door frame.

The excitement is building, the fever is high. The wife said to me the other day that we needed to get a chore done around the house as I am worthless during hunting season. I didnt want to tell her that I am already worthless, remind me in January!

I swear, if anybody posts up a picture of golden aspen leaves falling on a trail or 2 track, my head is going to spin off!

24 wakeups and we will be on the road. Every time I run across one of my hunting buddies, the talk soon turns to elk hunting. Who is the first to go hunting this year? Swede when ya leaving? Lefty maybe it is you?

It is our time boys! This is our time to shine. Don't screw it up somehow. Don't jump off the tailgate of your truck. Don't cut yourself somehow. Don't take a turn on your kids ripstick. Dont twist and lift something. From here on in, be as cautious as a long-tailed cat at a rocking chair convention.

Anyone wanna guess who the first will be to get an elk?

Anybody have any other random elk fever thoughts to share?

I am leaving for camp on August 25th. I have three stands up now, so I am staying home for an extra day this year.
I have been packing things for a couple of weeks now, and talk to my e-bike Mule. However, I am not particularly excited. I just like talking to myself or the Mule. :D
My wife and I have already done the shopping for the groceries and other things I need, but I am in no hurry.
My pastor suggested I should stick around, but he was speaking into my deaf ear. I am hardly excited about heading out.
No, I am hardly anxious to get started. It is just a metamorphosis I go through in August each year.

Lefty, you need to share this with Charlie Brown from the Humorous Memes 3 thread on the virtual campfire forum. I am still getting a laugh out of that one.

Gahhhhhhh! I can't stand the suspense! And I'm not even hunting the archery season for elk this year. I feel wound up too tight, like my chest is about to explode with energy. Work is so hard this time of year.

I'm stuck saying "Come on October" this year  .
