late season Cow hunting

Postby Lefty » 11 20, 2012 •  [Post 1]

Alright ,.. part of the zone I hunt has an extended cow season,.. and there havent been many geese around.
Sooo,... I m planning on chasing them out in the sagebrush and grasslands. Other than spotting Im not sure what else to try other than tracking in a fresh snow
Any suggestions?

Those are it!! (grin) Classing would be my # 1-- make it happen, you will locate, stalk & kill!

Too, do not hesitate to use your spotter for glassing out past a 1/2 mile, it's better than your binos on 20X to 40X

I do not know where you are going, but often a person can drive around until you cut some fresh tracks and either follow them or drive around and see if they crossed a nearby road that they were headed towards. If they were headed towards another road and did not cross, you can work back towards them and try to make a stalk.
