1st Annual Wapiti Talk Hunting Forum Elk Calling Contest?

We did a couple of these when Wapiti Talk was the Elknut Forum (2014/2015) and they were great events! The rules are pretty straight forward. 1. Only amateur callers are allowed to enter (no previous competitive stage time); 2. You submit a sound clip to yours truly (wapititalk1) by the closing date of the contest announcement; 3. Judging will be accomplished by a few former world championship level callers, and, few grisly old hunters. 4. Scoring is based on a 30 point system (10 points max for your 20 seconds of herd talk; 10 points max for your 20 seconds of bull talk; and 10 points max for your 20 seconds of freestyle; 4. Prizes are awarded for those who place 1-6 by our various sponsors.

Well, are any of you WT cats interested in this? Please reply with a yep if its something you may be interested in . It takes a lot of time to put one of these together so I won't move forward unless it sounds like there are enough folks interested. Oh, I'll be advertising this on a few other hunting forums so I'm pretty sure we'll have enough interest

The calling contests on the old forum were a ton of fun, so I know this one would be no different. I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to jump in with both feet. You'll find no better opportunity to compete against others while not necessarily having to deal with the anxiety that may accompany standing on stage in front of everybody. This is a great chance to really explore the more creative side of calling and have a lot of fun with a great bunch of guys in the process. Participation in this
contest would be win/win, no matter how you slice it.

The other contest were a lot of fun and helped my calling a lot. You get a lot of great feed back while practicing for the fall.

Sounds like fun I am in. Any recommendations on a recorder? It seems like to recorders I have used in the passed top out on the high notes.

I've had trouble with soundcloud, just adjusted the distance or called away from the recorder. If you find a better one, post it up!
