As I noted on my earlier thread concerning my Montana trip, I came back elkless. However, I had a great time hunting with my grandpa, who refuses to grow old! We covered lots of miles, saw lots of cool country, and found a good mulie buck in the process. I don't have a lot of time or energy for a full blown write-up, but pictures ought to help you guys have an idea of the situation!

Thanks Joe! That house is what my grandparents call their "cabin".

We hunted out of the "cabin" every day, usually within an hour or so of the driveway. We worked over the Beartooth front range to the best of our ability.

Great pictures and buck Malachi. Congrats. BTW: Before you sign I.S. to a bedroom make sure I get the bedroom closest to the kitchen. "The cabin" looks great.

Way to get it done on a nice muley & a special rifle!

Thanks Paul! That rifle is my baby. I think it was made in the late 30's. It's a Model 70 in 30-06 AI. So many years later, it will still shoot 1"-1.5" groups all day long at 100 yards, and with the AI modiication I can get a 168 grain bullet up to 3k fps! I'm happy out to 500 yards with it when I sight in 3 high at a hundred.

I thought you guys might appreciate seeing our humble *cough* *cough* abode. Looks like I was right!

Outstanding.. have to admit I'm a bit jealous. my granddaddy was a great guy and he provided so much of the outdoors to me, my early inspiration I guess. Good for you both.
