OnX maps help needed

Postby Tigger » 09 09, 2016 •  [Post 1]

I am planning on using OnXmaps this year, but all of a sudden, my basemaps have all went completely grey. Anybody an expert on this? I called their support number, but the recording says their office is closed at 1:30 on a Friday afternoon at the beginning of hunting season. I called a couple of weeks ago about a different problem and it was a strange message that due to technical difficulties, they couldn't answer the phone. On another forum, someone mentioned a similar problem.

I have heard really good things about OnXmaps, but so far..... I sent them an email a few hours ago and have heard nothing back. Very disappointing. I have until Wednesday to figure something out! Does anyone use something different that works?

Is it the chip or download? Maybe your subscription ran out.

iPhone download. Nope. It did it for my MN maps I bought this summer and my MT maps I bought a couple weeks ago.

Just uploaded it for my Dad on his iPhone last week. He got out to the Black Hills to go ATVing and it doesn't work for him. It kicks off as soon as he tries to use it. Tried many times and it is totally unworkable.

have you downloaded the maps onto you phone and have the settings on "use saved maps" turned on? if the maps are on your phone then they should not be gray.

I tried it all. They made me reinstall the app to fix the problem, of course I lost all I had already done with waypoints, maps, etc. I got it working then went hunting. It worked good for the first part of the hunt, then the trails wouldn't load, then the whole thing wouldn't work at all. Left me in the mountains without working. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

5 of us had this app. only 1 didn't have problems. 3 of us had major problems.
