It just got real folks. Just purchased my first elk tag ever. Spoke with the CPW yesterday and feel really good about my choice of hunting areas. Got all my gear. Now just need Sept. 13th to get here.

Oh baby! I've been trying to keep an eye on weather. Seems like it has been an uneventful summer thus far. I've got some nice high country meadows targeted with some good looking north facing slopes. Full rut with full moon during trip. I think this will be a great trip.

When I lived back east(Minnesota) it was a big adventure for anyone hunting out "west".

well it got real for me today also. I got my OTC tag and now im really getting ready to make lists and make sure that i dont miss anything or leave anything out. I cant wait to hit the mountains of CO and experience the greatness that is awaiting me.
