Elk Calling Seminar with Glen Berry & Joel Turner

Postby Glen Berry » 07 15, 2016 •  [Post 1]

I will be doing an Elk Hunting Seminar with Joel Turner, it’s going to be a very informational night. Joel has always impressed me with his calling abilities and elk hunting techniques, we will be giving information about understanding elk sounds and how to call bulls in close. The calling contest is always fun. Elk Hunters Big Night out!

Maybe u can video it and edit the high points and put on YouTube.

I bought one of your thunderbugles but lost it early in my first elk hunt and had to order another. They are really easy to use.

Glen, I have listened to your talks at the NW Sportsman show. They were interesting. I am wondering if this will be much the same or significantly different. Thanks for doing the seminar.

I believe this one is going to be significantly different with Joel Tuner doing a big part of the seminar we plan on covering understanding elk sounds. The seminar first and then the elk Bugling contest.

My buddy Gregg has spoke highly of you both and reminisces about you him and Wayne Carlton back when he used to call and work for HS. Should be a great seminar!

Wish I could attend this. Read Joel's mechanics on shooting (not the actual name - Iron Mind Hunting), great book that helped me a lot.

I had Joel down to do a Tactical Elk hunting/Calling seminar for myself and 6 of my hunting buddies and it was awesome. Learned a lot about his tactics and where he has found his success in the Elk woods.

I'm still going to head up on Thursday and take advantage of this!

Ran into two WT members at the seminar in Longviee. B.Sentman and Swede. Enjoyed the seminar and talking to fellow WT'ers. Glen Berry is "always" worth listening to and talking to and Joel Turner provided some great elk tactics. Bryan and I entered the calling contest but we didn't bring home any trophies. All in all, a great time! On to scout elk permit area in the morning ;)

Yes, I had a lot of fun at the seminar. I think we all had a good time. Here is a secret for you, if you promise to not to say anything. Rory has significant grey hair and not the youngster he appears to be in his avatar. Brian definitely qualifies as young. I had a great time visiting with both of them.

Had fun meeting you guys as well. I really enjoyed the seminar and going head to head with RJ in the competition even though he got the best of me :D . I'll be practicing up for a rematch next year!

Yeah but even as hurting as he is right now, he can still bury us younger guys climbing the elk Mtns when he wants to.. Ask me how I know.... He is definitely young at heart.

Wish I could have made it down that that, I would like to have met you Swede, really enjoying your book! Alas I was in Hunter's Ed with my youngest getting him ready for his 1st year hunting, he passed the written, on to the field testing tomorrow.

It would have been good to have met with you Larry. I wished we had more time to visit. I agree that RJ looks like he can still get around. He was leaving Longview for a scouting trip where he can test his legs on the coast range. Meeting with and listening to Glen and co. was the highlight of the day for sure.
