Utah has to be the craziest place to big game hunt The seven years I lived there I got to see plenty of book deer and moose.
I really liked Utahs CWMU system. A great opportunity for a normal Joe to get in on a great hunt. I had a neighbor who moved to Utah from Alaska for the type of hunting he liked. He researched CWMU s Twice he killed the biggest know elk on a CWMU. One year he actually turned his wife off of two over 30 " mulies for a 27 " 5x5 with brow- tines.

Often too many hunters with in a hours hike of access but like many places 2000 feet up or down and you leave the crowds behind,.. and there is lots of 2 hours up or down in Utah. :o
The best date my wife and I ever had was an antelope hunt on Deseret Land and Livestock CWMU. That year was a boomer year for me , I killed over 100 ducks, an elk , deer, antelope without taking days off teaching school or Sundays.

I'm sittin' on 15 UT LE Elk points right now. I'm a NR and I've been doing bonus points since 1999. If you do the math, you'll notice I missed 2 years. I wish I had those 2 points now.... and those were $5 points back then. I'm still thinking this year might be the time to start applying. I love MZ and do it in CO pretty much every year. I'm thinking of applying for a MZ tag in CO and UT and just turn the CO tag in if I draw UT. I'm #2 or 3 in line for the unit I'm considering. You never can quite tell where you are in the pecking order.Right now I think there's 152 NR guys with 15 pts. With the weather they've been getting, it should be a good year coming up.

I'm one of your 152 NH. Hoping to draw in the next couple of years to be able to get my dad in camp. I might drop from my #1 unit to get a tag sooner.
