Summer Scouting Tips

Throwing out a thread to see how you all go about your summer scouting in a brand new area.

Any tips, tricks, ways you go about it, how you would attack a new area you are looking in to?

Have a couple spots I am looking at and see some good routes, and peaks to glass, but what else do you all look for? Or tactics you use to determine if this is an area you might try out when the season hits?

During the Holiday season go to a lot of parties. Talk up the hunters while plying them with liquid holiday cheer. Find out where they got their elk. Check out their spot next summer.
Just kidding, That's what happened to me one year as I stupidly let out one of my secret spots in an inebriated state that was later "discovered" by the guy I told it to and over the years he became to completely believe he owned it. Oh well, it wasn't my best spot.I wasn't that stupid.
