Colorado Hunting Atlas...

Not sure if I am doing something wrong, but not mater how many options I select about elk migration patterns, winter range, summer range, overall range, etc. the hunting atlas doesn't show any of that information for any unit. I have already tried Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox and I get the same result on all 3 browsers. This information was showing up in the past for me. I am just trying to revisit my notes and plan and now I can't find anything other than boundaries, water, and roads. Can someone share if you are seeing the same thing? Or if I may be doing something wrong. I have attached a screenshot for reference.

Dont forget that you can use the slider bar to make the superimposed map layer lighter or darker. This allows you to visualize several layers at the same time. Also don't forget to use the Forest Servise Road Use Map and slider bar to see the roads in use vs. the closed roads. Lastly, you can switch the base map from map or satellite images - all very informative.

what program are you using for this? I have been trying to find one that I could do all this for my 2016 hunt. I was supposed to go this year but work screwed it up AGAIN this year.

FYI, my maps show all the same information plus a few other things of interest such as hot spots and security habitat.

Hi Mike, I checked out your maps but at least from the options I see I don't see any of the units that I am interested in. Also, how do you determine where the forage areas, hot spots, etc. are?

Hi Ramirojpc,

What units are you interested in hunting? My maps cover all USFS lands really well but the BLM lands are somewhat sketchy. As far as how I determine the different areas to hunt, check out the link and other pages on the website.

My son and I have so far picked out three areas, and even though they are close to each other, maybe 1-1.5 hrs drive tops, they are in 3 different units: 59, 581, and 511, so those are the units I'd be interested in. I would also be interested in units 54 & 55 for the 2nd rifle season. This is still iffy for me, I may not go after all this year, but if I go, those would be the units I'd be interested in.

I have really good data for 54 and 55, not so much on the others unless you are hunting USFS lands.
