i can hunt any state. i have 35 years experience in colorado, oregon, new mexico and alaska. i'm 58, fit and train daily. seeking jovial partner for 2015 season.

A few questions. Do you prefer bow or gun? Camping at the truck or in the back country? Where are you from? What kind of physical shape are you in and what are your goals when you're hunting?

Know any good jokes? That might sound funny but I'm serious. Similar personalities are as important if not more than equal goals and physical abilities.

I have another: What became of your previous hunting partners?

Tell us as much as you can about yourself and I'm sure you'll have some luck here. You might have to be open to hunting with someone with less experience than you who is happy to be able to learn from a more experienced partner. But their gratitude might be refreshing.

Good luck in your quest. I wish I could get away in Sept. I would take you up on your offer in a hot minute. I'm 45 work out every day and cant find anyone who is still willing to hunt like I still like to hunt. Bivy hunting is the best way I know to find and hunt elk.

Ive heard the elk hunt in alaska is about as rough as it gets. A guy i work with used to guide alaska elk hunts, and also kodiak brownie hunts. He said the gamies would pretty much camp on the guys doing the elk hunts and ticket them for wastage, knowing the terrain was so rough as to make it nearly impossible to get all the meat out in a timely fashion. He said they would actually rappell down cliffs to get into the best elk spots. Another guy i work with said he drew but didnt even do the hunt due to the difficulty. If you feel like posting up a new thread about your alaska elk hunting experience id love to hear about it.
