Bulls by themselves at the waterhole

I shot my bull this year at a waterhole. He was by himself so I assume he wasn't a herd bull. I keep wondering, will a herd bull leave his cows to go get a drink or will the whole herd move to the waterhole?

Ya I've had a camera on a wallow and I have pics of known herd bulls sollow at the water at different times. I think especially while everything else in bedded midday and the wallow is close. I had a herd bull this year that only needed to come another 20 yards to water! 2pm on a hot day what stinkin bull doesn't need water! His cow must of been ready cause he looked at the water, the cow, the water, the cow, bugles, the water and then followed the cow. So close...

Couple of herd bulls form this year coming in solo. Dates are all off cause I'm too cheap to replace an old $50 camera that still takes pics, but won't change dates so each time you switch batteries it goes back to 10-15-2008.
