Wyoming Elk Huntin

Postby Triplebhunters » 09 27, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Hello elk nuts. Hope you all enjoyed your archery season!
I'm taking a detour home from Colorado through Wyoming to do a bit of scouting, and stop at the division of wildlife office.
Any information I could get would be helpful.
I would like a unit where I could draw most years.
Also unit with a high black bear population.
Where to stay away from!
I will be hiking in daily.
I have one p point now.
I'm sure I will have more criteria, but breaks over time to hunt till dark.
Thanks
Dave

I have been working on building Wyo points as well. Currently have 2 and plan on a General tag next year hopefully. Probably can only draw every other year unless you do the Special license.

My understanding is the NW part of the state is the worst for Grizz and wolves. Remember that any wilderness area requires a guide or a local.

I am trying to convince my buddies to use http://www.headinwest.net/. Seems it would be valuable info.

Also might try Eastman's. They have some info. in their MRS section.

Good Luck!
