Heads up with all the rain for those going elk hunting the

I have way too much experience getting stuck on the mud, snow going through the ice ,...
Anyway my last elk scouting trip last night I was detoured for 2 1/2 hours to get though a road that was flooded,
I set out my tent and went to get my SD card from a camera and what I thought was a solid road I sank to the axles,
Anyway the road was soft I thought I had been smart and walked everything else that was flooded.
A few weeks ago ATVing there were two different Forest Service roads washed out, one in Wyoming the other here in Idaho, Bring your hilift jacks, chains and blocks some areas you will need them
Maybe where your going the road might not be there

Talked to my hunting partner yesterday. He is up in Northern NV and said everything is a mess from all the rain. Roads washed out and creeks flooded.

Hard to argue with rain here in the West, but wish it had held off a little longer! Leaving in an hour to join him.

Good and bad news. Hopefully fire season is over but getting stuck on the morning "commute" would put a good kink in the day. Don't forget the shovels.

Friday on my way out the first BLM road there was over 4 foot of water on the road
As long as I get there Friday night and can glass a few areas.

Between the first two weekends of my hunt I have hunted in 80 degrees opening week and yesterday in the snow. We have been pounded here for the past three days in central Utah which has cooled off the weather but it is a mess and hard to get around even on foot at the moment. Cooler weather has the elk moving more though so I am happy!

rain everyday here for the past 4 days. currently t-storming..... humidity is very high. I saw that my spot in ID has had an inch of rain the last 2 days and the temps have been in the 60's, cool front...
