Old Reliable Muzzy 100s?

Seems like everybody is running from one trend to the other on broadheads and the aurguments go on and on about fixed or mechanicals for elk! I was just wondering how many out there (besides me) still shoot the 3 blade 100 muzzy and have never had a problem.
I have shot an elk every year for 7 years with my bow, 6 bulls and a cow, and never lost one. With shots ranging from 51 yards to 10 yards! Yet my buddies still give me a little grief and I wonder if anyone's in the same boat??

I will be shooting 3 blade muzzy hundreds as well its my first year bow hunting I would never use a mechanical heard they can fail from time to time and why do all the hard work and have something like that happen I think u will find more people use a fixed blade and for those who don't I'm not saying they aren't deadly

I don't think anyone ever debates the damage a Muzzy does. They really are bad to the bone. But like many say they just don't seem to fly as good as I'd like. I found that my Slick Tricks, which are very similar in design, are much less finicky than those chisel points.

Perhaps it's just that I'm not the best modern bow tuner upper but I don't think they fly as good as some of the other BHs in the newer, lighter weight (100 GR on a carbon shaft). Now, if we're talking the old 130 GR muzzys I used to shoot on my fencepost 2219 aluminums back in the day, that's a different story. The only thing that rivalled them for consistent accuracy was the Wasp 3 or 4 blade in again, the 130 + grain variety. Ahh, the good old days

Muzzy 100s are fine. I think I still have a couple dozen of them that have never been taken out of the package. A person will not go through a lot of them if you only shoot one or two a year, and you replace the blades. It is hard to go wrong with a Muzzy 100 grain, 3 blade broad-head.

I don't think anyone ever debates the damage a Muzzy does. They really are bad to the bone. But like many say they just don't seem to fly as good as I'd like. I found that my Slick Tricks, which are very similar in design, are much less finicky than those chisel points.

Hey joe I tried slick tricks but never could get them to shoot correctly. I wonder what I did wrong? I liked the look of em just never could get em to tune.

I shot 3 blade Muzzy in 125gr, then tried the 130gr 4 blade Muzzy and never went back. I get twice the damage and better blood trail. There is nothing wrong with a Muzzy 3 blade.

I used to use theMuzzy too. no gripes with them.
Now days I use a coc broadhead with a shallow blade angle just trying to get an arrow in farther.

I have been shooting Muzzy 3 blade 125gr for around 8 years or so. I switched to them from Thunderheads just because I had a dozen Muzzy's that I caught on sale and couldn't pass up. I gave the TH's to my son and I started using the Muzzy's. Of the original dozen I still have 10 left after shooting many deer and hogs. The 2 that I don't have were lost after pass throughs on a hog and a deer and I was never able to find the arrows in the thicket. Both broadheads fly great and have the same POI as my field points.

I shoot the muzzy 3 blade 100s. Have been shooting them for the past 8 years. So does my dad. They work great for me and fly really good, so I'm not changing anytime soon. I have killed multiple elk and deer with them with no issues.

Been using them for years. Never on an elk but they work great on WTs. I'll have them in my quiver in Colorado this year and hope to see what they do to a bull.

I shoot 125-grain Muzzies and love them. Consistently sharp, strong, dependable - and cheap (what else is there?).

+1 Indiansummer. Used the 3 blade 100 grain Muzzy and they worked well. Switched to viper tricks because they were more forgiving. Out to about 30-35 yds. not much difference. Over that it was obvious at least on my setup.

I'd agree with Indian Summer. I had several one shot kills with my Muzzy broadheads in the past, but I always had to change my pins significantly between field points and broadheads. Started using the Montec G5s, and there was almost no difference between the flight pattern with my field points...and they've taken a couple of critters in one shot as well. I wouldn't cringe if I had to go back to my Muzzys, but I sure do appreciate the Montecs. However I must say that I do miss the practice blade option the Muzzys had though...
