Looking for a reasonalbly light weight 2 man tent

Postby Kevrod3 » 07 20, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Anyone have any ideas? I'd like to keep it around 3-4 pound range and $200 price tag. Is there a quality tent in that range you would recommend?

Also looking for a lighter weight 15 degree bag.... Suggestions. like to keep it in the $100-$200 range if possible

Probably going to have to go used to find a three pound tent in that price range.

Mountain Hardwear Hoopla. It's floorless though, weighs under 2 lbs. I really like using it. It says 4 person, but I think 2 people with gear is max.
On sale on Sierra Trading Post for $170 I think

I am using the Mountainsmith LT(2lbs 8oz with stakes and guy lines, $110) and the Big Agnes encampment bag (3lbs 9oz, $130)

find a used BA copper spur UL2

super cool tent. not their lightest offering, but the tent split between two guys carrying it..no biggie.

double side doors are the best things ever for a two man tent.
