Colorado limited elk unit nominations

Postby brun » 06 01, 2014 •  [Post 1]

There has been much speculation on what, if anything Colorado will do to alter their preference point system. I'm wondering if anyone knows if any new units are being considered for limited licenses, and if so, which ones.

Anything is possible, but I have heard no speculation of changes to limited units. The most likely change, by no means certain, is that point banking may get a 5 year trial. Bear in mind that a Board of Commissioners appointed by the Governor and consisting of ranchers, outfitters, and one lone hunter, approves or denies proposals for the season structure.

Would you mind giving me a brief review of point banking. Is that where you can use some of your points for a unit that requires less, without burning all of your points? I remember we tried that for one year a few years back. Thanks for your help.
