Wallow Pictures

I thought it would be nice to see some of your wallow pictures.

Here's a double I found. Ended up hunting by myself for a day after dropping off the North side. The bull I chased first bugled from this wallow. As you can see from the top of the picture, it was not an easy hunt.

This lil series of wallows is about 1/4 mi square and has about 50 or so different wallows, only a few of which get hit each year. Perplexing to me that there are all these perfect spots to wallow and they tend to blow only 3-4 of 'em up! This pic was taken in late summer when the vast majority of wallowing was yet to occur.

This one is about 1/2 mile from the first shot and taken in mid Sept. Yes, this area is wallow city. I'm guessing some of you treestand guys would like this one!

Another one from around the 15th of Sept. Believe it or not, I can't bring myself to sit here at all. I would like to but I just can't sit still, maybe later in life I'll whack a few from a tree

These are some interesting wallow pictures. I have made the same observation that otcwill made. Wallows are not a reliable place to sit and wait for elk, unless there are some good elk trails going by, and it has an isolated and limited water supply in the vicinity. I have a few pictures I will plan to post, when I get back from my venture to Southern Oregon for the remainder of the week.
Brad, try to keep these folks straight, and from foul hooking their catch while I am gone.

Great photos guys, some good stuff there!

I'm not a big sitter of wallows but have had to pick one I'd choose the 5th one in cnelk's photos! It appears to be near a bedding area with it on that slope & it's getting used there!

I like the one that has the treestand already there. Looks like a secluded spot. Surrounded by timber. Evening sits. Great picture to the op of that pic. Has it been productive?
