How does the PM System Work?

When you send a PM, it will show in your Outbox until the recipient opens it. It is not like an email outbox because the message itself never leaves the forum engine.

There is no delay in sending/receiving the message. It's instantaneous.

After sending, the recipient does get an email notifying them that they received a PM. If it's gone from the Outbox and you can see it in your "Sent messages" queue then other end has viewed it.

Hi, I joined last night and another member sent me a message. I can open and read it but there is no reply button. When I hit the compose button I get a message that I haven't participated enough or don't have permissions to use the system. What do I need to do? Thanks!

WYNUT, you just need to post 3 times on the forum before using the PM system. That policy prevents spamming from occurring.

If you don't already have 3 or more posts, go ahead and post to this thread or another and you should have your 3 posts.

Thanks mtnmutt and John!! It works today!! Went out for the first time yesterday and saw elk but didn't get one. I know where this one bull likes to nap now though.
