Finding a wallow?

Going to hit the mountains hard to scout this week in preparation for my hunt starting the 16th. It is in Northern New Mexico and its pretty warm and dry up there.

Any tips on finding water as far as terrain features or anything, have looked a bit so far and the only tank with water I found is right next to the road!

I am guessing I can hit some of the canyon bottoms and see if there are any, but so far this has yet to work so I am open to any suggestions.

Not to state the obvious, but I would start with Google Earth and look for anything green in the drainage bottoms.

Definitely. Also look for cattle if they're still grazing in your area. They won't be far from water and they know all the best wallow locations. We had two new wallows show up a mile from our basecamp on the main road over the past two nights, right in an area where the cattle have been feeding.
