Sharing some elk pictures.

The closest elk to me are about a 5 hour drive West, to the wild Elk Country of..... Pennsylvania.

Over the past 12 years, my brothers and I have occasionaly paid them a visit. Thought I'd share a few pictures since we're all elk maniacs.

All of these pictures are taken by my brother and his wife when we took a trip out there this past winter.














I have more photos of bulls that my brother and I took, but will have to upload them into photobucket first.

Some very good pictures. There are some nice bulls up there too. Missouri just re-introduced elk here a couple of years ago.

I would love to just drive a few hours and be hunting elk in either PA. or KY. Some of those bulls over in PA are absolutely huge. I think I read somewhere that they were predicting the next WR elk to come from there!

That thing is huge and looks like an awesome mount. I used to put in for the PA lottery, but I haven't in a long time. No doubt they have some monsters.

SGH31, I was just reading an article about Missouri elk a week ago. I think it's great that they are bringing them back to areas where they used to be and still have an opportunity to thrive. They seem to be doing real well in PA, hopefully MO will have the same success.

Brings back memories. My brother and I used to roam the hills from Winslow Hill over to Emporium back in the day. I have video of 15+ monster bulls in Benezette at the Licking Ranch before feeding them became prohibited. I've come close to being ran over in the dark sneaking down trails at night listening to the bulls screaming their heads off. Pretty scary really.

I applied for a license the very first year they became available. Since then I haven't because I knew I'd be out west busy with work and my own hunting. What do the draw odds look like these days?

Great bear hunting & trout fishing up there too in the Sinnemahoning and Driftwood Branch. The Grand Canyon of Pa is a heck of a place too. God's country for sure it's kinda like stepping back in time up there. Not much changes... pretty cool. I don't see how anyone could possibly go up there and not be inspired to head west in search of bulls.

If someone from the east really wanted to get in shape in some real hills while actually toying with real elk the Pa elk country would be a great place to do it.
