A 20 year old snow goose and a 6 year old snow goose,, a very worn band and warty bird!

I was headed out to my daughters to set up for turkeys. Part way there she called me, Ded there is a turkey I know I can get ,,, but she loaned her 20 to the neighbor!"
She calls back
"Dad I got my gun is it ok if I shoot the tom."
She hung up.

As I pulled in the drive I heard a report, She had called the neighbor got their gun locker and garage code,,, only found one shell ran out put the sneak on the flock and got the tome

and I never did make it turkey hunting this spring

Idaho 2024 Mule Deer. Tough hunting this year. No real shortage of deer but an obvious lack of mature deer after the 2022 winter kill. Hot weather didn't help any. No migration had begun happening at all. Finally found a pocket of bucks with a couple bruisers, but couldn't pass on this guy right next to the trail.

Funny thing. Rifle elk season now. Any bull. Ran to town this morning right before shooting light. 12 elk in a field 2 miles from my house on private, right next to state land. One small bull in the herd. Thought about how good a spike bulls tenderloin would be, maybe i should go sit on the state land a few hundred yards away and wait, but decided i didnt want to
disassemble an animal with a fresh wound on my hand.

So on my way home, there they still were. Relayed a message to a guy that lives right there. Turns out he knows the land owner and has permission. He jammed down there fast, but not fast enough. Got there just in time to see the spike bull getting loaded into somebody elses truck.

I should probably add my Idaho Mule Deer as well. Killed after 4 days of hard hunting in hot smoky weather.

Had a fun hunt with my boys last night. This guy wouldn't come out of the thick stuff, but finally that hot doe the other 2 bucks were chasing got the best of him and he got too close to the edge.

Nice bucks guys. Congratulations. I got to deer hunt three days this year, but I never saw a buck. I am hoping to get another opportunity next year.

Yep, first time we had him on camera was last week. Was not a resident buck. Dressed at 181, so pretty average. My dad shot one that dressed at 210 this year.

I called my Mn. buddy on the13th, He was sitting on his whitetail stand. I told him I would call later,, ,,, he just said "naw" the 161 buck was hanging out 60-100 yards away but wouldn't come out of the thick , chasing does . The does would come under his stand ,,, the buck never.

Tim was waiting on this weeks,,, the buck will go stupid according to him
