Slick Trick Broadheads

Just wanted to see what slick tricks you guys are using to knock down bulls and other western game im torn between the standard and vipertrick also post up a pic of your slick trick kill if you got em

I like both of your choices, prefer the Vipertricks myself. I like how the blades follow the semi COC tip. I'm either going with the Vipertricks or a 3 blade COC made by VPA.

I've used Slick Tricks for years. Very nice head. I've always used the regular ones. But I really like a COC head so for that reason I have also used the Magnus Buzzcuts. But this year I am due to buy new heads. So after lots of though I went with the Magnus Black Hornet. A really nice COC head with super heavy blades and of course the lifetime Magnus replacement warranty.

I use the coc RazorTricks. Deadly accurate out of my bow. They kill quick and clean.

Here's a few with the Viper Tricks, in both 125 & 100 grain, prefer the 100 grain ones!

I've only shot two Bulls. One with a 125gr standard and one with a 125gr viper trick. They're both good heads. I've shot quite a few deer with the magnums as well. The standards fly better for me so I might switch back to them this year.

Toby, we've taken 8 elk with the Slick Trick heads, 2 were with 125 grain & 6 with 100 grain. No pass through with the 125 but still plenty of damage & very lethal. With the 100 grain Viper Tricks we've had 5 pass throughs out of the 6, the one that wasn't was a frontal shot but it still buried the arrow deep into the chest where not even the nock could be seen. These arrows were aprox 420 grain total arrow weight with heads! We shoot a 67# & 70# bow. The lighter one at 27-1/2" & the 70# at 28".

I've killed a bull with the standard head and a buck and bull with the mag head. On the standard I had a pass through as did my buddy. The standards fly better for me.

Ever see any issues with the tips of the Vipers bending on shoulder hits? Saw some noise on another website that mentioned possible issues. Thanks

I did fold the tip over on a deer I shot last year. I hit the the offside leg.

No I haven't see a tip fold. I can't see one doing that. I can see a ferrule possibly bending because of solid bone contact but a rib is not solid bone contact so it's generally not an issue. I shot a big bull in the spine with one several years ago & dropped him in his tracks, No tip damage & all blades were intact, they were chipped up a bit but that is to be expected. I re-sharpened that same head & my son killed his bull with it a couple days later. Awesome heads.

If you look around enough you can find someone somewhere with claims of bending a broadhead of any manufacturer, I wouldn't pay a bit of attention to most of them, nothing is bullet proof. That Viper Trick is a true killer & one tough head! My son & I will be using them again this year!

I like the Viper Tricks. But the tip of it definitely folded over on the deer I shot last year. I think I still have it I'll take a picture if I can find it. It's not folded over much but it's bent.

Thanks for the comments. I was worried about the tip curling/folding on a shoulder hit. Obviously, if it hits the vertical ridge, it doesn't matter as no BH will blast through that, but wanted to make sure the viper can pass through a thicker part of the shoulder blade without curling. Hard to argue to try something else if the Elknuts use them! Also going to experiment with Anarchy BHs to see how they fly out to 60.

They're definitely a good head. I'm not saying they aren't if that's the way it came off. I might be shooting them again this year.

Standard ST 100's for me. 402 gr arrow. Almost complete pass through on my bull. only the fletchings kept it from going all the way through. Shot my buck this pass year too. Complete pass through... No clue where the arrow went??? Buck went 50 yards, the bull went 120 yards. Those things are scary sharp!
