2022

I need to get to bed so I will keep this to a short version. I spent a lot of hours in a tree stand this season. Elk numbers seemed to be really low in our area…we were running 4-5 more cameras and got 80% or more less photos this year then the last several seasons. I had some branches that I never would of thought of cutting when we sat the stand I was in cost me a decent 6 point and had a small 5 point go to the same spot (I had kinda already passed him up though)…also had to have the old bird hunting dog put down the day I was going to leave to go so I missed that day and had a nice 6 point on camera that day.

Overall I learned there is WAY WAY more to tree stand hunting then just getting one up and sitting in it…already can’t wait until next season. 4 tags in our group and my wife and one brother in law didn’t get to hunt much. We managed a bear and a six point bull out of the stands this year so we will call it a successful season and something to build on.

Lots to talk about this off season to get ready for next year
