New stands!

Postby Elkhunttoo » 05 17, 2022 •  [Post 1]

Just finished my order. I have 2 stands headed my way. I went with the Game Winner EZ set oversized hang on tree stands. They are basically the knock off of the millennium stands. With my first responders discount they game me $20 off. So with shipping $238 for 2 of them…I will let you know what I think as soon as I get them and put ‘em on a tree

I know nothing of the Game Winner EZ, but if it is durable, comfortable, quiet and is easy to set up, it should be an easy winner alright. The Millennium is all of that, but they are not cheap. Maybe that is why they are not called a "Winner EZ". Let us know how you like the stand after you get to see it.

I leave home for my hunt on Monday just before the Saturday opening of hunting season. I set up camp on Monday and Tuesday. I hang my stands on Tuesday and Wednesday just before the season opens. If I need to, I will hang a stand on Thursday, but I like to use Friday to look around and prepare for opening day. There is nothing noteworthy about my sequence. It is just what I have become accustomed to doing so everything comes together. Occasionally I will not leave home until Tuesday, so everything gets compacted in time. Still, I like to hang stands right after getting camp set.
I do not like to leave my stands out unattended for very long. Things, including stands get nervous or something and leave if they are unattended. I want my stands where I left them when I arrive to hunt. When I go in to hang a stand, I also check my cameras. Sometimes I don't bother to hang a stand if I have very little on the camera.

I knew you went early, I just couldn’t remember if you hung your stands then or it you did it when you where scouting. I think i will try and hang mine a few weeks before the season starts this year. I’m definitely going to have some limbs to cut at the one. I spent all year sitting ground blinds determining where I would hang my stands this year… now I have to change my ideas…my wife usually hunts with me but she started working at the school our kids attend and won’t be able to get very many days off for hunting. The main spot we have would be perfect for 2 stands but I think one stand can cover it if I place it in the right spot….the water crossing are right at about 60-70 yards apart…I’m going to try and place my stand to cover both spots instead of my wife and I each sitting one.

:D I will have to do that Lefty

Not sure why it came out side ways but I put it up on a tree in my yard…my only trees are huge so I’m going to have to go to my neighbors house and see how it fits…

It looks safe enough if you keep it that low to the ground.
