Tree Stand Work Outs?

Postby Elkhunttoo » 06 25, 2025 •  [Post 1]

Last season i found myself with plenty of energy at the end of the days, almost kind of antsy might be the best way to describe it. All day sits can kind of get to you mentally and physically. Last year towards the end of the season i started doing push ups and a jog to try and help burn some energy. Has anyone else found themselves feeling this same way? If so, what are some of the things you have done to help either while sitting or in the mornings and nights.

I do not have any special exercise to help me with sitting and waiting long hours. I suppose long drives would closely resemble staying alert for hours while sitting. I do my daily three-mile hike and work around the place here. I have been shooting my bow regularly so I can be ready if the opportunity comes my way.

I wiggle my toes,
Squeeze my shoulder blades
Tense leg muscles.
Flex fingers
I only roll my neck, stand up and stretch when there isn't any game around,,, :o

I spend time in ground blinds, of all sorts , most blinds allow for plenty of movement.
One day I called my snow goose hunting buddy:10:30 Minnesota time. he was just talking away. Then mentioned he was watching some does. Me thinking he was in his shop.

Then he said its time to go. Sub zero temps in his tree stand deer hunting in North Dakota.
