Shot a cow.

Postby ferris bugler » 10 22, 2012 •  [Post 1]

Shot a cow this morning. She was in a group of around 75 elk. The best part about it was the bull was running cows and bugling like it was mid September. I know cows that have not been bred will come back into estrus, but this is the first time I have been in an OTC unit on public land and seen this. I'm willing to bet that the bull could have been called into bow range. Seems like there isn't very much hunting pressure this season. Awesome morning.

I'm not sure exactly how it ended up where it did. How do I tell which section it will end up in?

As far as the picture goes I'll have to do a trophy shot once I get all the meat packaged.
