we have left a swathe of elk blood across the lands..(i exaggerate, i will frame my tag)

now what? where are you going next?

me..i need to fill my California Archery deer tag. will probably be the lone fool carrying a bow during rifle season. whatever.

then it is off to AZ for the chase for the couse deer in january..that will just about exhaust my hunting funds.

you?

Between now and elk camp 2013, it is magazines, catalogs, the internet hunting forum and scouting next summer for me. I am thinking again about where I will hang my trail cameras or set up a different stand. It sure seems like a long time to wait.

We could do a cow hunt on leftovers, but we're already pretty booked.

I need to take some frustration out after missing my shot on the 5x5.

CO Buck Pronghorn
CO Buck Mule Deer
CO Cow Elk

All tags are rifle. I'd love to and can legally carry my bow for any of these season, but competing with 1000 rifle hunters doesn't seem like a wise choice if trying to fill the freezer.

Got picks of a couple nice mature ten points hear in east Texas season starts Saturday. It'll be mostly hog hunting and whitetails through February. Then spring turkey in April and scouting trips planned for next summer in Co for my fast growing elk obsession.

My grandson has a youth elk tag that needs to be filled. So I think I'll probably be helping him with that. Also, I might be doing a little guiding for rifle hunters. But that is still up in the air. I'd love to get back down to Texas for another hog hunt. But so far, haven't made any plans.

My SIL has an antelop tag,.. and my daughter has a OIL moose. We will spend a few days looking for a nice bull for her.
Otherwise,.. geese and coyotes look out,.. I might even trap a few muskrats

I will start hunting for a nice whitetail. Will have lots of time, from now until the last weekend in November. My wife does not care for deer meat so I will be picky and only shoot one if it is real nice. Have kids that can really use the meat tho. I should get a fall turkey tag as i can't keep the darn things out of the yard, saw the neighbor lady herding a bunch out of her yard today.

Hoping to get the old man a bull. He's never gotten one before. Also hoping to get a nice deer as I still have that tag to fill. Then, if all goes well maybe taking a few days to wolf hunt. Last year the funds were exhausted and I liked being a new dad too much to leave and hunt something I had no clue how to hunt. By then it will be time to start working OT to pay for next year :D

Plains deer tag for eastern colo (my backyard) that starts Oct1 & runs till the end of the year less the rifle season dates.Throw in upland birds, ducks & geese as well as all the coyotes I can call in & I'll stay busy till spring. WW, the tx hog hunt has my interest also.Shawn picked up a new ride this fall, so you prolly could give your truck a break. My elk tag soup did'nt turn out well at all!

I guide upland hunts in the winter so I'll be pretty busy with that the rest of the year. We'll also be taking advantage of the fantastic trout fishing in the Arkansas River tail water, which is about 10 minutes from my house. It's an excellent winter fishery that produces some big fish during the cold months and since it's so close me and the kids can hit it just about any day I'm not working.
