I attended the Wyoming Grizzly bear management plan in Jackson Wyoming. The plan was not about hunting regulations, and wasnt to be about bear hunting
There may have been 10 bear hunting supporters. A rancher, an adventure outfitter and a fellow from SCI gave hunt bear statements.

I would guess there were 250 dont kill the cuddly snuggable grizzle bears supporters: Mostly women in their 50's and 60's. Only two had the crazy cat lady look. I have never seen such a group of uninformed; Wearing T_shirts and one in his bear costume. Many wound up by adds in the Jackson paper.
Some were worried about what constitutes cubs with sows.
One lady compared it to the "wolf slaughter" going on in Idaho driving bears into extinction
Bear 399 and Cecil the lion comments.
One lady was hung up on the bear census ,.. really,.. Even though the biologist stated the official count is 713, but likely there are over 1000 in the Demographic monitoring area, and more bears outside of the DMA
The anti hunting strategy " not enough data. was brought up ( like they do with all animals on the threatened and endangers list) And "we need to wait." Wyoming Game and fish spent $2,000,000 on grizzlies last year. The biologist stated it was the most studied animal on earth ( Federal money). And they have reached their goals
I didnt realize but grizzlies had been de-listed in 05,.. but in 06 the courts kept
It was apparent that all the "bear watchers" were in the parks
The flyer put out by some group, their concern was killing of any bear. Trophy hunting is socially unacceptable, and claimed 77% of Jackson residents do not support "grizzle bear trophy hunting" and that

"The Jackson hole Chamber of Commence has come out in opposition to grizzle bear trophy hunting as being incompatible with out local economy"

Well the way I look at it yes we should all stick together as sportsmen/woman on this subject. Are most of the grizzly bears in wilderness areas?

No
While apx 25-30% is Yellowstone and Teton and JDR. The DMA incldes Island Park, all the way to I-15. Idaho hunting regulations heck even camping and tourism has been negatively adversely affected.
In fact a few wackcos; Island park lodge owners blame black bear hunters baits why they have grizzlies on their deck eating their cat and dogs food

Want a real rush, cross fresh grizzle sign,,. then hike in the dark,.. well you dont even need for it to be dark

There needs to be a bit more fear in bears. Always a couple bad encounters every year here in Idaho,.. 258 confirmed adult 5 years of age male grizzlies to breed 259 females. Most males breed 4 or 5 sows each year( sow may be breed by more than one male too)
Wyoming is only looking at hunting 3 per year,.. I hope Idaho opens it up for more than that instead of the junk we have going with wolves.

There was also talk about transplanting into Idaho Wilderness areas,..

I went hunting in the North West Territories about 11 years ago. There were Grizzly bears in and around camp. The manager of the camp was a was a lady. One day in the lodge, I heard her chewing out one of the guides. Often when there is shooting in the field, the bears come around as they have learned there will be food available. Well, the guide had taken a shotgun out and made an excessively long shot at one of the bears. She told him that when a bear hears a gun shot around camp she wanted them to associate it with real pain. She wanted no more long range shots. She wanted the bears to fear humans and lose all interest in hunting camp.
