Are you blind?

Postby Willie makit » 12 30, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Back in my younger days I always had lots of trouble following blood trails. My dad stayed semi aggravated at me accusing me of being impatient and rushing when trailing deer. In the early 90's I took a new job and during the medical stuff they threw this little book at me and said To just read what I saw. 2/3 of the pics I could not make out anything or saw something different they said wasn't there. Hence forth if found that I am red-green color blind, or color deficient.

I'm just wondering if any of your guys have this honor? Or maybe you do but don't even know it?
There was another thread that talked about blood light or chemicals to enhance blood and got me wondering. I know it mostly affects white males and is hereditary. I barely make out a 21 in this but know it's not. Computer screens vary and may hinder or help but I put this out just as a curiosity and hopefully to help someone that might be like me and not even know it.

I posted the blue star post. Any of you that are color blind you should try it out. I would imagine it would make a world of difference for you. The glow has a blue tone to it. Just buy some and try it on anything you've used to pack or worn when packing, even if it's been washed it should still glow and you'll be able to see if it helps you or not. Let us know if it helps I'm corious.

My vision is so bad I can't even hear without my glasses. But hey, I could see these shapes and numbers. Somehow I feel a little better.

Yup. I am the same as you in all 3 pics. I think I see 21 also, a ton of dots, and a square.

Funny thing is I have been working in the electronic communications field for almost 30 years. (A lot of components and wires are identified by color bands) I was turned down for my first job out of college at Rockwell International because I am color blind. They showed me a bundle of wires. (This was the 3rd color test they had given me) I got probably 80 out of 100 right. Apparently that wasn't good enough for the space shuttle or military contracts!

I have learned to improvise in most cases. But about the only thing that helps with blood is snow on the ground.

Yay, a long lost colorblind brother,

I really think these guys are just thinking of getting out of the mountains a bit, that's why they are seeing a sail boat, it really is just a bunch of dots.....

I'm an EI tech and have to be very mindful of it myself, those #22 and #24 wires are a killer especially if its more than 8 in a cable.

I could, through the process of elimination, figure out resistor colors because I knew the color code. Once I figured out Telco color code, I could work with 25 pair cables also. But many times I would have the brown and slate pairs set aside because they looked so close. If we switched mfg of cable, it made it tough also. But now with my poor close eyesight, (I need bifocals), I have no shot in poor light. Good thing I now have a desk job.
