Martin Phatom Magnum

Postby JohnFitzgerald » 07 07, 2012 •  [Post 1]

I just picked up a bow at a yard sale and paid $50 for it. It's a Martin Phatom Magnum with a Fusion Cam setup. Still trying to figure out which limbs it has and also the model number. Looks like it's never been used and also came with all extras including bow case.

Do you think it was a good deal?

Heck, a bow case can be worth $50!

I had one of those a few years back. It was a nice shooting bow that I killed a few deer with. I eventually gave it away to someone who desparetely needed a bow, and I bought a new one.

I'm going to keep it as a backup bow, then in a few years I'll give it to my son for his first archery hunt.

I bought two of the Fuzion bows. They are the same, I think except for the limbs. I gave one to my son in law. They were fairly cheap, but I have killed several elk with both of them. At $50 you did not go wrong. I think I paid $200 for a new bare bow shortly after they went to something new. The other I paid $300 for and was told by the dealer that I was getting a real bargin. I do not shoot the Phantom as accurately as I do my new PSE, but I still practice with it regularly, and keep it as a back-up. The biggest complaint against the Martin is it has quite a bit of hand shock. I have tried several things to help it, but it still has kick. Have you tried the bow yet? What do you think about it?
